Ryan S. Sharples

Architectural Intern

Ryan Sharples joined CBP as an intern in 2024. He balances Drexel University’s 2+4 cooperative B.Arch. program with professional experience. The Maine native was attracted to CBP for its combination of affordable and market-rate housing and how design quality shines in projects for both sectors.

“The work CBP does really brings pride to someone just starting out. For my first job, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to team dynamics where everyone is appreciated for what they bring to the table.”

Ryan has always been curious about the idea of narrative in design. Through involvement in high school theater, he developed an interest in conceptualizing and building sets, while taking on responsibilities as stage manager. He also participated in the ACE Mentor Program and explored furniture design, ultimately finding his path to architecture.

Ryan participates in Drexel’s chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS) and is the 2024-2025 elected public relations representative, developing social media and program graphics and helping market AIAS events. He enjoys sketching in public, building with LEGO®, listening to small-venue live music (Swedish indie band The Friday Prophets is a favorite), and any hands-on construction project in which he can apply his design knowledge.
