Nicholas Connolly RA

Associate Nicholas Connolly joined CBP in 2015. As a teen, he worked as an artist’s assistant and woodworker, developing a lifelong passion for combining artistic sensibilities with practical construction knowledge. Before college, Nicholas circumnavigated the globe, traversing the valleys of Nepal, picking grapes in France, and realizing that architecture was a fulfilling way to combine the pursuit of great design and satisfaction of a job well done. He completes projects from luxury private homes to affordable housing, always with a receptive ear to the client’s perspective.

“A huge part of architecture is talking to people. I enjoy that as much as sketching and getting things built. I enjoy working with the client, listening to them, and figuring out what they want.”

Nicholas earned a Bachelor of Architecture with honors from Pratt Institute, where he spent a semester in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is a member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Association for Preservation Technology (APT-DVC), the Building Industry Association of Philadelphia (BIA), and the building and grounds committee for his residence, the 2601 Parkway Condominiums. He is registered in Pennsylvania. At CBP, Nicholas assists others in developing graphic clarity and encourages standardization of REVIT libraries and documentation consistency.

A resident of Philadelphia’s Fairmount neighborhood, Nicholas is married with two adult children. His wife, a fellow architect and Puerto Rico native, introduced him to the island, where they are in the process of creating a sustainable farm and off-grid dwelling. When he’s not learning how to propagate native plants or developing designs for that tropical climate, Nicholas enjoys listening to live music, hiking, biking to work, and any meal he doesn’t have to cook.
