Kara Kray

Project Architect

Project Architect Kara Kray rejoined CBP in 2022 after previously working for the firm from 2003-2008. Proficient at shaping the value of land and property, Kara has completed both market-rate and affordable housing projects as a designer and project manager. Being a caregiver in the chronic illness and special needs community gives her deep empathy for the clients she serves.

“I like being able to work with clients to give them what they need. It’s satisfying to know how much the end user benefits from our effort.”

Kara holds a Master of Science in Architectural History and Criticism from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Architecture from the Pennsylvania State University. She has lectured in architectural history at Lehigh University. A resident of South Philadelphia, Kara serves on the board of her local park.

Kara loves all things Scandinavian, from Marimekko fabric to travel in Finland, Sweden, and Denmark. She enjoys spending summer evenings listening to Phillies games on the radio. The remainder of her free time is spent cooking, knitting, hiking, and catering to the whims of her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Bruce. She and her architect husband recently finished a whole-house renovation.
