What happens when children with developmental disabilities grow up? This question led to the founding in 1987 of Judith Creed Horizons for Achieving Independence (JCHAI), a not-for-profit organization that empowers adults with developmental disabilities and autism to reach their fullest potential and live and work independently. The John and Jacqueline E. Swartz Education Center, designed by CBP Architects and completed mid-2020, is the organization’s new headquarters, offices, and program facility that allows this dedicated group of people to broaden the fulfillment of their mission through increased programs to a larger population in need. JCHAI was set to welcome clients to this facility when the onset of COVID-19 occurred and still is not able to fully utilize this new structure. But we congratulate them on this latest achievement.
