Cecil Baker + Partners Becomes CBP Architects

Firm News
January 2023

After a long and distinguished career of creating timeless and serene modern architecture throughout Philadelphia and beyond, Cecil Baker, who founded our firm in 1982, has decided to step away. He plans to continue his work on bespoke projects while splitting his time between Philadelphia and East Hampton, N.Y.

As we wish Cecil all the best, we are also delighted to announce that Nancy Bastian and Eric Leighton, Cecil’s partners since 2006, will take over as the firm’s second generation of owners. With this transition we take on a new name: CBP Architects.

Instilled in CBP Architects is a client-centered ethos with an unwavering commitment to the pursuit of good design. These principles have helped produce the thoughtful, beautiful, and beloved architecture for which the firm is so well known. Nancy and Eric intend to preserve this legacy and inspire their entire team to build upon the highly regarded architectural practice, focusing on collaboration to create exceptional projects that fulfill a broad range of design needs.

We are excited for the promising future of CBP Architects and look forward to working with you on your next opportunity to shape Philadelphia and beyond.
