CBP Architects Celebrates Barry R. Sharer Pavilion Groundbreaking

Project News
September 2026

On August 27, 2026, CBP Architects partners Nancy Bastian, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP, and Eric Leighton, AIA, NCARB, and Project Architect Jake Volanski, RA, NCARB, attended the groundbreaking celebration for Barry R. Sharer Pavilion, formerly known as Meadowbrook Apartments. The new four-story, 42-unit affordable independent living project in Langhorne, Pa., will be built on the campus of Woods System of Care. The project closed for funding from Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) in June.

Named for former Woods board chair and member Barry Sharer, the pavilion will provide one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments and a first-floor medical suite. Once integrated into its larger campus, the pavilion will support Woods clients with behavioral health complexities, autism, and developmental disabilities. Nine units are set aside for Woods clients, while the remainder will be available to the community at large. The hope is that the project will provide much-needed workforce housing in Bucks County, potentially for Woods staff, along with options for Woods clients. Completion is expected in summer 2027.

“With attainable housing increasingly out of reach for so many, creating safe, accessible, and inclusive places to call home is essential to building healthier communities and expanding opportunities for independence, connection, and wellbeing.” – Woods System of Care, groundbreaking remarks
